Cort Ruddy puts almost two decades of experience in politics and journalism to work for PC Public Affairs clients. Mr. Ruddy began his career covering politics as the deputy managing editor for National Journal’s Hotline in Washington, D.C. He made the jump into politics to become the speechwriter for U.S. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Upon his return to Central New York, Mr. Ruddy spent five years as the chief of staff and top advisor to State Senator David J. Valesky. In that time, he also served as executive director of the Senate Democratic Upstate Caucus, and as the communications director and campaign manager for the successful election and re-election of Darrel Aubertine.
Prior to joining PC Public Affairs, Mr. Ruddy worked for Red Horse Strategies – a political consulting firm based in New York City, where he served as director of their Upstate office and Vice President of Communications. In his career, he has advised and consulted democrat elected officials across New York State on all levels of government, from Members of the Assembly to U.S. Senators.
Mr. Ruddy received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh and earned a dual Masters in Political Science and Journalism at Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
